Social support

Coming to a new country far from home can be a very lonely and isolating experience.

Our programme of monthly social events and groups will create social spaces for LGBT asylum seekers and refugees to connect with each other and their local community. We will tailor our social programme to your needs and will include a range of activities for you to showcase your talents.

Regular social groups

  • Women’s Group

Every 1st Wednesday of the month on Zoom
A monthly online safe space for LGBT women with a refugee background to come together and know that they are not alone. We want you to feel part of an empowering community of women who support each other and validate each other’s experiences.

  • LGBT Refugee Group

Every 2nd Wednesday of the month on Zoom
Monthly online information sessions for LGBT asylum seekers and refugees to find out more about legal and practical support around asylum cases and refugee status. These sessions will also explore mental health and how to keep well during challenging times.

  • Social Fridays

Every last Friday of the month on Zoom
A monthly online social group for LGBT asylum seekers and refugees to come together, relax, share laughter and take part in a range of activities where you can showcase your talent to your community. From open mics to talent shows, performances from artists, musicians, motivational speakers and poets, we will host an array of fun days and nights in (until we can safely come together in person again).
