A sociable sports and physical activity group for people who are trans or have a trans history, including non-binary people of all genders, aged 18 and over. We will have regular and varied events with a mix of activities covering a range of sports. We make no assumptions of fitness levels or sporting knowledge and prioritise a relaxed and supportive environment, socialising with other trans people and making friends. Scotland’s first LGBT football team, which meets regularly with like-minded teams throughout the UK and internationally. ShuttleScots Badminton Group
Relaxed and friendly Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) group. We are all about meeting new people, making friends, developing skills and playing badminton in a supportive & non judgemental environment.
The group is made up of members of all ages, backgrounds and sexual orientations and we welcome individuals of all badminton abilities, including those who have never played previously. Social activites are a key part of the club and are regularly organised throughout each month.
If you’d like to join us at a session you are free to have a taste, have a look and bring a friend! The first session is free and we have spare racquets to borrow if you don’t have your own. Drop us an email or complete the form opposite in advance and we’ll make sure that there are spaces available and that we look out for you on the night.

Edinburgh Racqueteers
An inclusive (mainly gay and lesbian) badminton club. Seeks more full-time and part-time players. Plays more at an intermediate level and takes part in some friendly competitions. Come along, have fun, enjoy meeting the other members for a friendly game and a social get-together afterwards. Plays all year round and can generally accommodate more players during the summer season (May-Aug).

Caledonian Thebans RFC
Scotland’s first gay/bi friendly rugby club. We offer gay/bi/trans men the chance to learn the game and play rugby in a safe and supportive environment, though all sexualities are welcome. New players (18+) at whatever level or experience, and new supporters are equally welcome to the club. We train twice weekly at the Murrayfield back pitches.

Edinburgh Frontrunners
We are a running club for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and straight friends. Membership is open to all, regardless of age, gender identity or expression, sexuality or running ability. Edinburgh Frontrunners is the UK’s seventh and Scotland’s second Frontrunners club, and part of an international collection of Frontrunners groups with branches in over 100 cities around the world!
We hold two recreational club runs each week. All runs depart from a leisure centre, with both venues offering cubicled showers and gender neutral changing areas.Showers cost £1.70, and lockers use a refundable £1 coin deposit or token. After each run, we go to a nearby pub or cafe for food and drinks.

The Gay Outdoor Club
Operates throughout the UK and provides a wide range of outdoor and indoor sports and recreational activities for LGBT people and their friends. In Scotland there are groups which arrange day walks, cycling, mountain biking, badminton, running, swimming, and kayaking. There are also mountaineering, caving, and rock climbing groups, which organise weekend and longer events further afield.

Dancers of all ages and levels of experience are welcome at this LGBTQI Scottish country dance group. Each term introduces a new programme of dances, so it’s ideal if you can come along at the start (September, January or May). The emphasis is on fun. All we ask is that if you come to one of our classes, you’re happy to dance with everyone – man with man, woman with woman, or man with woman!

Bike For Good
Guided bicycle maintenance for womxn and non-binary people
We currently have 3 activities as part of our womxn and non-binary programme:

- Weekly cycle rides and lessons for womxn every Thursday (on pause during lockdown, will resume in Tier 4 and below)
- Spokes not Blokes, a monthly guided bicycle maintenance for womxn and all non-binary people on the 1st Tuesday of the month (currently taking place online from 6-7.30pm, book here)
- Occasional taster sessions for BMX, Mountain Biking, and sports cycling, for womxn and non-binary people (check our social media, or email healthandwellbeing@bikeforgood.org.uk to join the waiting list)

Glasgow FrontRunners
Glasgow FrontRunners is an award-winning inclusive running club with strong links to Glasgow’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community and friends. GFR welcomes all budding runners, regardless of age, gender identity or expression, sexuality or running ability.
Our JogScotland-trained jog leaders offer a range of runs each session that take you through the sights and scenes of Greater Glasgow. We cater for all abilities throughout the year – in January our 9-week ‘Couch to 5km’ programme supports absolute beginners, and each week jog leaders offer a whole range of options from easy-paced 5kms, right through to 10km, half-marathon and full-marathon training programmes.
On the first Thursday each month we follow up the run with a social night at Cafe Hula. We also have an active and inclusive women’s group who meet on the last Thursday each month.
Whether you’re just starting out, looking to improve, compete, or just to meet fellow LGBT runners, come along and try it out!
